We never publish sponsored content disguised as editorial. Our shop only lists products we have tested and genuinely recommend. If we change our mind, we say so.

One well-researched article beats ten rushed ones. One well-made product beats a catalogue of compromises. We take the time to get things right before putting them in front of you.

Independence

We are reader-supported and self-funded. No venture capital, no holding company, no advertiser with a stake in what we write. Our only obligation is to you.

How we got here

Our story

What started as a newsletter among friends became something larger than any of us expected. Here is how we grew into what ThePlatform is today.

2022

A newsletter begins

Two friends start sending a weekly email to 40 subscribers about things worth reading and things worth buying. The response is immediate and warm.

2023

The blog launches

The newsletter outgrows email. We publish our first long-form articles and our subscriber base crosses 2,000 readers in the first month.

2024

The shop opens

Readers kept asking where to find the products we mentioned. We built a small shop stocking only things we had personally vetted. It sold out in a week.

2025

ThePlatform today

A full editorial and commerce platform, independently owned, reader-supported, and still run by a small team that cares deeply about every word and every product.
